Parents of Cambria County high school students: Free electronic tutoring sessions in English for those preparing for college

I returned to Pennsylvania and Cambria County earlier this year, and thus have renamed my tutoring business “English Tutoring From the Alleghenies.” As a gift to students who are seeking some help with their preparation for college, I have decided to give students an opportunity for two free sessions this summer on areas that they might choose.

At this stage for high school students, a vision of what to do with the future is a constant challenge. If college education is your goal, I provide tutoring in many different areas from writing college admissions essays and the Common App to SAT/ACT tutoring, preparing for college writing of essays and research papers, reading comprehension, vocabulary development, reading comprehension, literature analysis, and even basic grammar and punctuation.

The college prep sessions are usually for incoming seniors and juniors, but I can work with those who have just graduated, too.

Students will need a computer, either laptop or desktop, along with some internet/wi fi connection. These are held via Zoom, which can be downloaded for free.

All of this would be at no cost, and the only hope for me is that these will be very beneficial for students in their current and future educational development.

For the initial preparation, I will meet with the parents and student either on Zoom or via phone to plan the sessions.

Students whom I have helped over the past year have gained entrance to prestigious schools like Harvard, Carnegie-Mellon, Amherst, Wisconsin-Madison, Penn State and many state-affiliated schools throughout the country,, to name a few.

The sessions start on June 1 and will continue until August 15.
